In cooperation with our cross-sector safety partners, Titan Security is monitoring the events around the 2023 Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle, set to be held on Sunday, March 26. The following streets will be closed to traffic between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. as runners pass through the area:

DuSable Lake Shore Dr., Ida B. Wells Dr. and N. Michigan Ave. will remain open.

No parking will be allowed on these streets starting at 1 a.m. on Sunday, March 26. Vehicles that are not removed from the street by that time will be ticketed and towed. 

There will be rolling street closures within Grant Park beginning Thursday, March 24, through Monday, March 27. Grant Park will be closed to all vehicle traffic from 6 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, to approximately 3 p.m., on Sunday, March 26.

In cooperation with our cross-sector safety partners, Titan Security is monitoring the events around the City of Chicago’s 2023 St. Patrick’s Day Parade and River Dyeing, set to be held on Saturday, March 11. The following activities around the celebration are listed below along with additional festivities to be held on Sunday, March 12.

Road Closures

Beginning at 8:00 a.m. Columbus will be closed from Roosevelt to Monroe, along with the cross streets, until the end of the parade at approximately 2:30 p.m.

River Dyeing

Taking place on the Chicago River from approximately 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. between Columbus and State.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The Parade will begin at 12:30 p.m. starting at 700 S Columbus and will end at Columbus and Monroe at approximately 2:30 p.m.

*We will provide any updates as information becomes available and/or changes regarding the St. Patrick’s Day festivities.

Millennium Park Closures
The following areas of the Park will be closed to the public until 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 11:

The Millennium Hall Restaurant will open for business at 10:00 a.m. with tickets/reservations being required to enter.

Maggie Daley Park Closures
Partial closure of the park will start at 8:00 am and park will reopen at 3:00 pm or at the discretion of Chicago Police Department. 

Iron barricades and mesh fencing will be utilized to restrict access to closed areas in the park. After the River Dyeing, the families with children will have access to the parade and playground areas by walking southbound on the west side of the park. 

There will be restricted access to the playground. Children ages 12 and under, will be allowed into the playground at either the east or west entrances only with their parents or guardian. 

Chicago Riverwalk Closures
All access points will be closed to the general public for all of Saturday, March 11 and will open as normal at 6 a.m. on Sunday, March 12. First Lady Cruises will be managing tour access at the Michigan Stairs and Columbus Ramp as needed.

Shammrock’n the Block Party

Old St. Patrick’s Catholic Church located at 700 W Adams Street in Chicago will be holding their annual St. Patrick’s Day party on Saturday, March 11 from 11:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Archer Avenue St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The Archer Avenue parade steps off at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 11 at Archer Avenue and Oak Park and proceeds east on Archer to Narragansett. The parade is expected to conclude at 2 p.m. and will benefit the Daniel Golden CARE Trust, a fund set up to cover ongoing recovery and rehabilitation for CPD Officer Daniel Golden.

South Side Irish Parade – Sunday, March 12

The South Side Irish Parade steps off at noon at 103rd and Western Avenue, marching south to 115th and Western Avenue. Parking restrictions in the area begin at 8 a.m. and will remain until 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, but anyone parking in the area that day should read signage before parking. Expect parking restrictions on both sides of the street from 103rd to 112th Streets along Western Avenue. The staging area is located on Western Avenue from 99th to 103rd Streets and Bell to Maplewood Avenues. Street closures along the parade route as well as the staging area begin as early as 9 a.m. The parade is expected to end at 3 p.m., the disbanding area is located on Western Avenue from 115th to 119th Streets. Northwest Side Irish Parade – Sunday, March 12

The parade steps off at noon at Onahan School, at 6634 W. Raven St. proceeding south on Neola Avenue to Northwest Highway and north to Harlem Avenue in the Norwood Park neighborhood. Northwest Highway will be closed to vehicles at 9am. Parking restrictions are in effect along the route beginning at 7 a.m. and continue through 1:30 p.m. Both sides of the street on Neola, Raven, Northwest Highway, Normandy Avenue, Imlay, Neva, Palatine and Natoma along the route will be affected. In cooperation with our cross-sector safety partners, Titan Security is monitoring the events around the 2023 Lollapalooza Music Festival, set to be held Thursday, August 3 through Sunday, August 6. The following information includes Lollapalooza 2023 road closures and safety information, along with primary entrances, peak traffic times, and additional precautions being taken by public sector departments. The highly anticipated festival is expected to draw hundreds of thousands to Chicago’s lakefront for the four-day event featuring over 170+ performances on eight stages. 

From Chicago’s Office of Emergency Management and Communications:

Street Closures In Place: Traffic control aides will be deployed to facilitate traffic around the area, motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes. The following closures are in effect: 

ADA Drop–Off: ADA drop-off is located at the eastbound curb lane of Monroe just east of Michigan Avenue. 

Public Transportation: As for any large–scale event, public transportation is encouraged and both CTA and Metra are providing additional service for the event. Note: For more information, visit CTA at TransitChicago.com and Metra.com. 

Rideshares, Taxi Cabs, Car Services and Pedicabs: Geofencing boundaries will be in effect for the safety of pedestrians and motorists: DuSable Lake Shore Drive to State Street and Wacker Drive to 14th Street. For those traveling to and from the event by rideshare, taxi or car service the below will be in effect each day from August 3–August 6, 10am–11:30pm.  

Entry Procedures

Festival entrances: Concertgoers can enter Grant Park at the main entrance at Michigan Avenue and Ida B. Wells Drive, or at the north entrance at Columbus and Monroe Street. 

SAFETY AND SECUIRITY MEASURES

Security Screening and Enforcement: Each year, security measures are refined and implemented for the event’s layered security plan in addition to an enhanced security and law enforcement presence inside and outside the festival. Prior to entry fans are subject to a full and complete airport-style search to the festival grounds, event security will be searching all bags, administering magnetometer screening and conducting pat-downs. As always, underage drinking is not allowed, and the ordinance will be strictly enforced.  

Bag Search: ALL bags will be searched before entry. CLEAR bags made up of clear plastic, vinyl, or pvc, and no larger than 12″ x 6″ x 12″ ONLY. Small clutch purses and fanny packs with no more than 1 pocket and no larger than 6” x 9“. Backpacks, and bags with multiple pockets are prohibited.  

Prohibited Items: No liquids will be allowed into the event. However, patrons can drink water while in line if the container is empty prior to going through security screening. Containers and hydration packs are allowed into the event but must be emptied of all liquid and have no more than two pockets in addition to the one holding the water reservoir. Free water will be provided at numerous Hydration Stations inside the venue. 

Pole Marker Locations: For public safety, attendees are reminded to be aware of the numbers attached to the light poles throughout the Grant Park area to help them reference their location within the park to friends, family and first responders if there is an emergency and you call 9-1-1. The green and white pole markers are established within the boundaries of Roosevelt Rd. to Randolph St., DuSable Lake Shore Drive (DLSD) to Michigan Avenue, Ida B Wells Dr to Michigan Ave to Columbus Dr, Jackson St to Michigan Ave, Monroe St to Columbus Dr, and from 2400 DLSD to 6600 DLSD. 

Lockers + Lost and Found: Lockers are available for rent inside the festival. If you lose something at the festival, check with the main Guest Services booth at Columbus and Ida B. Wells Drive or visit Lollapalooza’s virtual lost and found at Lollapalooza.com/LostandFound. Visit a Guest Services booth for all event related questions while on–site. Do not leave items unattended and be mindful of your belongings at all times.  

Medical Safety Resources: There will be 6 medical tents located throughout the festival staffed by top level medical professionals, paramedics and EMTs. The organizers are again complementing the emergency medical resources available at the event with student Safety Team members. The EMT and medical students serving as the Safety Team will be outfitted in blue vests and will be located throughout Grant Park to seek out patrons who may be in need and help expedite connection with the mobile medic teams so that they get to patients quicker. 

SAFEFEST

NEW – Lollapalooza has added SAFEFEST, a team of friendly guides in bright yellow shirts to provide information. Whether you have questions, need help finding a medical or security location, or directional help leaving the park, this team is here to be your helpful resource. 

This Must Be the Place: Lollapalooza organizers continually update safety and security protocols, which includes education and preventative measures to keep people safe. With this in mind, Lollapalooza is partnering with This Must Be The Place, an overdose prevention nonprofit, who will educate music fans about the dangers of fentanyl and supply them with the life-saving opioid reversal medicine, naloxone, commonly known as Narcan. We encourage fans to stop by their booth at the festival and learn more. 

Weather Conditions: Attendees are encouraged to check conditions before heading out.  Cooling buses and water stations are available throughout the event and fans are encouraged to bring empty water bottles to the event and utilize the free water refilling stations around the park to avoid dehydration. The event encourages patrons to download the festival app to receive communications regarding the festival, weather, and other information. 

Weather Shelters: Attendees should be aware of the emergency evacuation shelter sites located in the Grant Park North, Grant Park South and Millennium Lakeside Garages. The evacuation shelter sites can be accessed through the vehicle entrance on Michigan Avenue. Signage is posted to direct people to designated extreme weather shelters for extreme conditions such as lightning, tornadoes, hailstorms, or other weather events. In the event of a weather evacuation, all attendees should follow the instructions of public safety officials. Shelter locations will be opened only in cases of extreme weather to ensure the safety of event patrons. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the Chicagoland area.

The Warning is in effect beginning Thursday, December 22 at 12:00 PM CST until Saturday, December 24, 6:00 AM CST. During this time, blizzard conditions are possible with winds potentially gusting as high as 50 miles per hour and up to 6 inches of snow.

Falling and blowing snow may result in white out conditions with zero visibility at times, making travel extremely difficult. Additionally, wind chills may reach as low as 25 to 35 degrees below zero during the height of the storm. Wind chills of this magnitude can cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 20 minutes.

If you must travel, please take additional time to prepare for the weather conditions and use caution. Travel is expected to become very difficult as roadways may become snow-covered and slippery leading to unfavorable conditions. Visibility will also be sharply reduced during snowfall in specific areas.

Precautions to Take

The Office of Emergency Management and Communications (OEMC) reminds private sector firms to ensure their street-facing cameras are in good working order and recording is enabled.

The OEMC Operations Center will be monitoring accordingly. However, because situations develop and change rapidly, additional attention to monitoring news media and other sources for rapidly developing events and updates would be prudent.

Sign Up for Emergency Alert Program for Business

The City of Chicago Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection (BACP) and Office of Emergency Management and Communication (OEMC) has created an emergency alert program specifically for Chicago’s businesses. Local business owners and managers should text “CHIBIZ” to 67283 or visit www.chicago.gov/chibizalerts to opt-in to receive targeted emergency alerts for the business community via CHIBIZ Emergency Alerts. Businesses that opt-in will also be directed to submit a few business-specific details so that BACP and OEMC can send targeted alerts to specific areas of the city as needed.

Acquisition expands Titan’s service footprint to 14 states

Chicago, IL, September 1, 2022 — Titan Security Group, LLC (“Titan”), a leading provider of security solutions headquartered in Chicago, IL, announced today that it has completed the acquisition of the security staffing operation of Prudential Security, Inc. (“Prudential”), a security solutions provider based in Taylor, Michigan. Titan is a portfolio company of Quad C Management, Inc.

In coordination with our cross-sector partners dedicated to safety and security, Titan is monitoring an emergency “Stand with GAZA” protest being held by the coalition for Justice in Palestine on Tuesday August 9th in downtown Chicago.

The protest is scheduled to start at 4:30pm CT at Michigan Ave and Ida B Wells Dr. The Justice in Palestine group can draw several hundred and sometimes thousands for their cause. They historically march to 500 W Madison and tie up traffic during rush hour. It is expected that while potentially disruptive, these events are anticipated to be largely peaceful.

As information surrounding this and associated demonstrations becomes available, it will be posted on the Titan News and Resources hub.
